Powerful fan, great for airing out rooms This is an awesome blower. I originally picked it up to air out my apartment after the annoying neighbors under my apartment filled my unit with disgusting cigarette smoke. It did a great job shooting the smokey air right out the window. Its high-power, directional fan makes it great for a variety of uses.
I was particularly impressed by its quiet operation. Even on its highest setting, I was able to run it through the night and sleep in the same room with it. It's not quite as quiet as a conventional fan, but this isn't, after all, a conventional fan. Speaking of which, I'm sure you'll find many uses for it (e.g. airing out a room where you're painting, drying carpet, zapping the burned microwave popcorn smell), but if you want something to blow a gentle breeze around a room, go with something standard. I wouldn't recommend it for cooling yourself as with a regular fan - it's really better at exhaust and circulating fresh air. I suppose you could use it as a fan if you're stuck under the sink repairing the plumbing (as is the case with the guy pictured on the box), but that's really not what it's best at.
The unit itself is very sturdy. One of the previous reviewers claims the construction is cheap, but this was not my experience at all. He may have a defective unit. Mine has taken a fair amount of abuse without flinching. I've had it running 12+ hours without even getting warm. The power cord is equally substantial. Ten feet is a good length and the cable is heavy-duty. The extra outlets are a welcome bonus - Stanley (or Lasko) went above and beyond.
With so many possible uses, this is a great fan to pick up. If you already have a use for something like this, look no further - this is your best bet. Highly recommended.
Nice try, but... On first blush, the OXO dish scrub looked to be much higher quality than other similar products I've used, so I bought one. Initially I was very happy with it. However, over 2-3 months of use the black rubber plug used to seal the detergent inside the handle shrank (!), resulting in non-stop detergent leakage.
If you're looking for a detergent dispensing scrub, try another OXO product: the OXO Good Grips 1063901 Soap Squirting Palm Scrub. I've had it for 4 months now and it's working wonderfully.
Plastic Gears!!! My mother purchased this for my daughter for her ninth birthday last month. We were initially impressed by the fact that you could actually knit a scarf. By the second little scarf, though, the gears began to slip. By the end of the thrid scarf you had to manually force the mechanism where the yarn is to even get the crank to turn. The plastic gears simply wore out. Why put plastic gears this type of toy/tool?!?
Good iron for the price I purchased this same iron at Target 3months ago and I use it everyday. I didn't experience the problems the previous reviewer had. I find this iron to be a pretty decent one. I had a Rowenta and paid double the price and was so disappointed when it leaked constatntly. It was one of the worst irons I owned. I would think twice before I buy another Rowenta.
This Sundbeam iron is a good one and the steam is strong and I haven't experienced any leaks. I use this iron everyday and I am very satisfied.
